ARIUMae is a 24 person design firm serving the Mid-Atlantic Region from our Washington-Baltimore office.  We emphasize sustainability, elegant design and outstanding service.  Year after year, we are positioned among the top architectural, engineering & interior design firms in the region. 

The firm was founded in 1988.  It combined the thriving practices of Tim Sosinski and Stephen W. McLaughlin.  Since the beginning, the firm has experienced steady growth and consistent performance.  Rather than seeking design awards and high visibility, we have have risen in stature based upon a solid foundation of satisfied clients.  While other firms produce cutting edge marketing materials, we emphasize cutting edge SERVICE and TIMELESS DESIGN.   We are innovators in finding ways to produce quality results at lower costs. We were among the earliest adopters of CADD. Both Sosinski and McLaughlin implemented CADD in their offices in 1985.  We were also a pioneer in using internet communication and, digital management systems.   We continue to be ahead of the pack with LEED projects and as an early member of the U.S. Green Building Council.  We started on BIM in the past few years.

Our In House Interior Designers and Mechanical Electrical Engineers allow for close coordination of critical disciplines and more responsive delivery.   While other firms waste time and money seeking the "best team" to accomplish a design task, we simply look across the aisle to our colleagues for sound advice that moves the project forward.

Our base building projects, building repositioning concepts and interior design efforts, are noted for their emphasis on VALUE.  We emphasize long life solutions, energy efficiency and sustainability.  Our systematic, step by step approach helps to keep fees down and quality up.  We are business people who know that time is money.  As such, we try very hard to keep our projects on time and on budget. 

We are members of both the International Code Council and the NFPA.  We take pride in our track record for successful permit processing and astute analysis of regulations.  We are noted for our sophistication in analyzing building area questions, leasing and operating issues.  Most of our clients are developers, brokers and property managers who respect our consistent professionalism.

Many of our staff members started their careers in construction.  This "muddy boot" mentality and respect for the contractors who implement our designs, pays huge dividends in understanding that constructability is a fundamental aspect of every design.

The biggest users of design services in both the public and private sector have found that our approach is addictive.   We have found that doing a good job is the best form of marketing.  Our friends at most of the largest REIT's, biggest Companies and governmental agencies at all levels, call us for reliable solutions.   Our belief is that making our client's lives easier and less stressful is a fundamental path to success.  We are not perfect.  But, we do seek continuing improvement and greater success for our clients.
