This existing one-story used sales and service building was converted into a new and improved Quick Lane service facility for Academy Ford in Laurel, MD. Arium provided full architecture and MEP engineering design services for the renovation/addition which included the partial demolition of the old building and the re-creation of a larger structure to house the additional service bays, car wash, and waiting/sales area.

The exterior enhancements include a new insulation finishing system (EIFS) and insulated metal wall panels on the CMU block system with accent color branding. The building was fitted with all new energy-efficient windows and doors to comply with local governing codes. The new state-of-the-art automatic car wash bay allows Academy Ford to wash customer vehicles quickly and efficiently before pick-up. Since the previous building had a raised interior floor with stairs and a very long ramp, the design team modified the new facility to be slab on grade for ADA accessibility. Arium was also able to incorporate new car display spaces adjacent to the building for customers to enjoy while waiting for service.
