We’re leading the expansion of quantum research in Maryland.

Arium AE is leading the expansion of quantum research in Maryland by providing comprehensive design services for the University of Maryland’s new quantum research center located in the Discovery District at College Park. The Capital of Quantum initiative is a public-private partnership with the State of Maryland, the University of Maryland College Park, and private partners to generate
more than $1 billion in investments in Maryland’s quantum industry.

Under the project management of the University of Maryland Enterprise Corporation and JLL, the 14,000 square-foot space is split between two floors. It consists of working and teaching labs, office spaces, and a multipurpose room for teaching outside partners and students the basics of quantum computing. Complex process equipment supporting four immediate and seven future quantum computing machines is housed within two rooftop structures. Arium AE worked closely with the UMD and tenant consultants to finesse the system requirements. The office interior aims to blend the labs’ clean aesthetics with natural textures and colors, while still referencing the technical work of its occupants.
